1. 困難な状況、窮地

解決が難しく、身動きが取れないような厳しい状況や、困った事態に陥っている状態を指します。

He found himself in a tight spot when his car broke down in the middle of nowhere. (彼は人里離れた場所で車が故障し、窮地に陥った。)
